Middle School Music
Middle school students in 6th grade take music class each week and focus on singing to prepare for the Christmas Program in the fall semester. They also learn to play the ukulele and by the spring semester will be able to play and sing comfortably. During music class, they are also given an introduction to auditioning for the Spring Musical, which is open to 5th-8th grade students.
Students in 7th grade take one semester of music class, during which they learn an introduction to the guitar. In the fall semester, students will also be a part of the Westminster Christmas Program and spend time learning and preparing choral Christmas music.
Upper School Chorus
Upper School Chorus is an opportunity for 7th-12th grade students to participate in a mixed choir. They perform at Grandparents Day in September, the Christmas Program, and a spring Easter chapel.
High School Chapel Band
Chapel Band is an opportunity for high school students who have a heart for leading worship. These students lead their peers in worship at both Lower School and Upper School chapels with a mixture of contemporary worship songs and beloved hymns. Tryouts are held at the beginning of each school year.
Literary
Literary is an academic and fine arts competition that allows students to showcase their talents within these areas. There are several music categories, including girls solo, boys solo, girls trio, boys quartet, and piano solo.
