Pre-K begins each day with free play in the classroom which serves as an integral part of the social and physical development of each child. Our youngest students are encouraged to use their imaginations to learn and explore the world around them.Circle time and learning centers take place each day where students are exposed to literacy and mathematical concepts through the use of manipulatives and small group instruction.Students are introduced to basic handwriting skills through the “Handwriting Without Tears” program, where they become aware of letter formation through the use of hands-on materials.“The Gospel Project” Bible curriculum is used to point students to Jesus through every Old and New Testament story.

Additionally, pre-k students have daily recess on the playground where they build friendships and develop healthy bodies through physical play.

Pre-K students take several curriculum based field trips throughout the school year, including visits to Washington Farms and The Story Shop.

Lunch Bunch Program

Parents that need additional childcare for their pre-k and half-day kindergarten students are encouraged to utilize our lunch bunch program. This program begins at noon and lasts until lower school dismissal—which begins at 2:15—and offers our youngest students a place to extend their learning through play!
