WCA Dawg Day 2018
Show us your UGA colors on Monday, January 8th!
Monday is not a national holiday but members of the “Dawg Nation” certainly think it ought to be! So, to help us get ready for the National Championship game Monday night, WCA is going to hold a special Dawg Day 2018. All upper school and lower school students and faculty and staff are invited to wear your favorite red and black and show your UGA pride on Monday, January 8th.
And nothing personal against the beloved elephants, but . . . . it’s good to be a Georgia Bulldog!
Delayed Start for School Tuesday, January 9th
Please note that we will have a delayed start to school on Tuesday, January 9th due to Georgia playing in the National Championship game on Monday night. We will have a one hour delay with school starting at 9:00. This is a historic event for our city and want everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy this experience with their families.
If the delayed start creates an inconvenience for your family due to your work schedule, please contact your child’s principal so that we can assist you with alternative arrangements.
Upper School Spirit Week
Start the year off in the upper school with some out of the ordinary days next week!
January 8th – 12th will be Spirit Week for students in grades 6 – 12. Each day has a theme and judges will be roaming to name a “best dressed” every day. Daily winners will be featured on a spirit dedicated page of the 2017-2018 yearbook. To print out a flyer for the week, please follow this link: 2018 Spirit Week
Here’s a recap of the days:
Please remember that all chosen clothing needs to follow WCA guidelines for modesty. Any student dressed inappropriately will be asked to call home for a normal school uniform for the remainder of the day.
Jittery Joe’s Exhibit Artists’ Reception
Art and coffee “Lion Style” will be served up on Tuesday January 9th, at the Epps Bridge Jittery Joe’s to celebrate the WCA student art exhibit. This reception honoring our student artists will be held from 7 until 9 pm. Jittery Joe’s (Epps Bridge Road location only) will be offering “Lion Lattes” and “Westminster Mochas” for your enjoyment!
Please stop by and enjoy this time of fellowship, good coffee and our students’ wonderful artistic endeavors! Questions? Please contact Jackie Kirsche, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Congratulations to all students whose artistic talents are on display!
Admissions Preview Night
Our next admissions preview event is next Thursday, January 11th beginning at 6:30 pm in the administrative building. If you know families that are interested in learning more about the exciting things happening at our school, please help us spread the word about this event. This is an excellent opportunity to meet members of our administrative team, tour the campus and hear from current students and families. Don’t forget about our referral program where you will receive $300 for every family you refer that enrolls at WCA!
