Grandparents' Day 2024
Happening this Friday!
We are excited to welcome our Westminster grandparents to our campus this Friday as we celebrate Grandparents' Day! In lieu of our normal school day, we will welcome all grandparents to campus to enjoy breakfast, a special program and a classroom tour with their grandchildren.
To ensure that there is adequate parking for our visitors, this year there will be two sessions to choose from - 8:15 am or 10 am. Please know that the 10 am session is closed, so if you have not yet registered, follow this link to select the 8 am session for your family.
Upon Arrival:
Please proceed to the upper school gym upon your arrival on campus. You may meet your grandchildren there to enjoy a program designed especially for you!
Parking & Shuttle Service:
There should be plenty of available parking for our visiting grandparents, but there will be volunteers to help you if needed. Please know that we will also be operating two shuttle buses to assist visitors in getting to the gym.
After your visit:
Students are welcome to leave campus with their grandparents after their visit. We will have early dismissal at 11:30 for any remaining students. Enjoy going to lunch, spending time together, and thank you for sharing your time with us! We look forward to celebrating this day with you and yours.
After School Not Available:
Due to Grandparents' Day not being a normal school day, please know that our After School program will not be available on this day, Friday, September 20th.
For All Upper School Students, Grandparents Day is a Day Off:
Grandparents' Day, Friday, September 20th, will be an official day off for all WCA upper school students in grades 6 - 12. This simplifies activities on campus for Grandparents' Day and allows us to have additional parking available for our guests. So, enjoy the early start to your weekend!

Upper School SharpTop Impact Retreat
It is so exciting that the upper school retreat to Sharptop is coming up next week! Here are a few things to know:
Luggage Drop-off -- All luggage for students in grades 6-11 should be dropped off in the gym on Wednesday (9/25) morning. There will be signs for each grade throughout the gym. When it is time for students to load the buses, they should collect their luggage and take it to the bus.
Attire for Wednesday (9/25) -- Casual Friday clothes
Cell Phones -- Cell phones will be collected as students load the buses and returned at the end of the trip. It may be wise to simply leave the cell phone at home.
Spending Money -- There will be a snack bar and a gift shop that will be open at various times during the retreat. Be sure to bring some extra money for that. Depending on the individual, $20 - $30 is a conservative amount to bring.
Medication -- If you have any emergency type medication such as an inhaler or Epi-Pen that you will need to keep with you, be sure to let our nurse, Shawna King shawnaking1@gmail.com, know. Also, if you have other prescription medication, that will need to be left with Mrs. Boswell by Monday. Be sure to include the dosing instructions and your name on the container. Students -- remember to arrive for meals 5-10 minutes early to meet with the nurse if you have medication that you will need to take during the trip.
Return -- We plan to arrive back at Westminster by 12:30 on Friday (9/27). Please plan to pick up your child at that time. Upper School students will not be going to classes that day.
Linens -- Be sure to bring bed linens or a sleeping bag and towels for bathing and the pool.
Emergency Number -- If there is an emergency and you need to reach your child, please contact the office at Sharptop 706-692-5635 or after hours at 770-547-3671.
Food Allergies -- If you have any food allergies, please use this link to communicate those with the kitchen staff at Sharptop.
Packing List and Dress Code -- See this 2024 IMPACT Retreat Information.
We are grateful for this opportunity to learn, fellowship, and have fun together!
