Valedictorian
Westminster Christian Academy is pleased to announce that the Class of 2023 Valedictorian is Nadia Guthrie. Nadia is the daughter of Carlton and Jeanne Guthrie of Watkinsville. She began Westminster as a kindergarten student and is a 13-year graduate. During her time at WCA, Nadia has participated in Mock Trial, Cross Country, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Math Team and Spanish National Honor Society. Nadia will be attending the University of Georgia in the fall and plans to study International Affairs. Congratulations to Nadia and her family!

Salutatorian
Westminster Christian Academy is pleased to announce that Isaac Heydinger is the Salutatorian for the Class of 2023. Isaac is the son of David and Linette Heydinger of Dewey Rose. He came to Westminster in middle school as a 6th grader. During his time at WCA, Isaac participated in Cross Country, Soccer and Basketball. He will be attending the University of Georgia in the fall. Congratulations to Isaac and his family!

Commencement 2023
Commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2023 will be held on Saturday, May 20th beginning at 10 am at Watkinsville First Baptist Church located at 1610 Simonton Bridge Road, Watkinsville.
Lost and Found
One last time for the year!
One last call! Lost and found items are on display in the gym. Please check the tables for items that might belong to your household. Items will be on display until Friday morning after early dismissal at 9:35 am. Any unclaimed items at that time will be donated. As always, thank you for your assistance with this process!
FACTS Incidental Accounts ~ Please take a look.
With the end of the school year upon us, we are trying to be sure FACTS accounts are up to date before we start the new year in June. Please take a look at your FACTS tuition and incidental accounts to be sure that any outstanding charges are either paid or are scheduled to be paid. Your assistance with this is greatly appreciated! WCA Summer Office Hours
Westminster school and administrative offices will transition to our summer schedule beginning next week on Friday, May 26th. Offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 am until noon. All offices will be closed the week of July 3rd - 7th and will re-open on Monday, July 10th.
Summer @ the WCA Library
We are excited that our library will be open on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 am until 11:00 am beginning June 15th and going through July 26th, except for July 5th. We hope that you'll take advantage of this opportunity to check out reading materials from our amazing and growing collection!
Summer Reading, Math & Coursework
Please know that summer reading and math requirements, as well as high school coursework for selected courses, will be included in next week's announcements. So, you don't think about it for a few days!
License to drive this summer?
Plan ahead to avoid delays.
Do you have teenager who will be getting either their learner's permit or driver's license over the summer? If so, you will need a certification of enrollment to complete the process. To get an enrollment certification, please contact Laura Boswell - 706-769-9372 or office@wcalions.org. Due to summer office hours, be sure to plan for additional time to get the necessary form.
Elementary intramural flag football & cheer anyone?
Exploring the possibility of a grades 3 - 5 Fall Intramural Program.
We are currently exploring the possibility of establishing our own intramural WCA flag football program and potentially cheer next fall. This opportunity would be for rising 3rd-5th grade. While having students developing their skill levels in football and cheer is a clear objective, it is also our goal to provide opportunities for engagement and community development for our lower grades at WCA. XC Summer Workouts

The XC summer workouts for middle school and varsity cross country begin on June 6. If your child is a rising 5th-12th grader and would like to participate, please complete the Google Form here. Summer Lady Lions Basketball
Rising 8th through 12th graders who are interested in participating in summer basketball practices, please contact Coach Callie Barnes for a schedule, or you may access it here.
Soccer Skills Summer Camp
Sign-Up now available.
This summer we are pleased to offer our soccer players the opportunity to up their game! The soccer skills camp is designed to help players develop the technical and tactical aspects of soccer. Players will be divided up into groups based on their skill level to better facilitate the development of the player. Skills camp will be fun and challenging. The emphasis will be on growing the player’s foot skills i.e., passing, shooting, and receiving the ball. We will play some small-sided games and finish each day with a scrimmage. We will also work on some keeper skills if you have a player interested in playing that position.
- When: June 19 – June 22 (Monday – Thursday) 9 am-12 pm
- Who: Boys and Girls Rising 6th -12th grade
- Cost: $75 per player

Middle School Baseball Summer Camps
Registration now available.
This summer there will be two baseball camps offered for boys in rising grades 5 thru 8.
When: June 26-28 (Monday-Wednesday)
Who: Rising 5th - and 6th grade (9:00 am – noon); Rising 7th - and 8th grade (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)
Cost: $125 and will include a t-shirt.

Please be in prayer for the Mauldin family - Brett, Candice, Bankston (6th), Morgan (3rd) and GrayAnn (1st). Brett's parents, Larry and Angela Mauldin of Lake Oconee, are recovering from serious injuries they received in a car accident. Please continue to pray for strength and healing as they work through at-home rehab. Your continued prayers are greatly appreciated.
