State of the School Address & Re-Enrollment

Head of School, Jared Clark, has published his annual State of the School address.  This short video celebrates a few of the incredible things that God has done and shares important information regarding the future.   Please take a few minutes to watch the video so that you can be an informed partner with the school.  You can view the video by clicking here.

Additionally, the re-enrollment period is underway.  Families who complete their re-enrollment by January 31st will receive discounted re-enrollment fees ($75 per student, $200 maximum per family).   Please complete this quick and simple online process as soon as possible.  Should you have questions regarding the re-enrollment process, please contact Laura Briscoe at lbriscoe @wcalions.org.

Re-Enrollment Winners - Free Lunches!

Who says there's no such thing as a free lunch?  We are pleased to announce the winners of the early re-enrollment contest who will each receive $100 credit to use on Boonli.com for lunches.  To be eligible for the drawing, families had to complete their re-enrollment by Monday, January 20th.  The three families who won free lunches are: the Schupska's (Paden), the Harris' (Caroline and Rebekah), and the Guest's (Gavin.)  Congratulations!

Lost & Found

Water bottles, heavy coats, rain jackets, lunch boxes, textbooks and much more!  The multitude of items left behind by students is on display in the gymnasium.  Please either have your students look through the lost and found items or stop by yourself to find things belonging to your household!  Items will be on display through Friday afternoon at 2:45.  All unclaimed items will be donated.

Upper School:  Show Your Spirit Next Week!

It's time to start planning outfits for the 2020 Upper School Spirit Week!  Each day of next week - January 27th - 31st - will have a different theme to give students the opportunity to show their spirit while having a good time.

As always, all outfits must follow WCA guidelines for appropriateness and modesty.  Thank you!

Father-Daughter Dance - We Need You!

WCA's annual Father-Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, February 8th in the upper school gymnasium.  The dance is for all Westminster dads and daughters, PreK through 12th.  For this event, the gym is beautifully transformed to honor this special evening.  However, this transformation takes many hands to accomplish.  If you are able to volunteer to help with decorating, craft table, food or takedown, please follow this link to sign up - Father Daughter Dance 2020 Volunteer.Sign Up

Afternoon Car Line Procedures

We need your help to ensure that afternoon pick up goes safely and smoothly.  Please remember the following:

  • Parents should not park in the traffic circle until after 3 pm.
  • Parents should remain in their car at all times while their vehicle is in the traffic circle and not get out of their car.

The strict adherence to these guidelines will help keep our students safe and on their way home without unnecessary delays.  Thank you for your assistance!

Interested in helping Westminster "Adopt-our-Streams"?

WCA has received a generous grant to begin an Adopt-a-Stream program on our campus!  We are excited about this great learning and service opportunity for our students and families.

If you are interested in learning more about the program and ways in which you can participate, please contact Dr. Dayna Fairman , dfairman@wcalions.org.

Thank you for your interest and support as we begin this worthy program at Westminster!

As we go through our days, please remember to keep the following WCA families in your prayers. Also, please email Tami Butts (tbutts@wcalions.org) with updated and/or new prayer requests.  It is an honor to pray for each other.

  • Please be in prayer for the Kreiger family as they are walking through Anderson's (11th grade) recurrance of.  He is still in Children's Healthcare of Atlanta receiving initial treatments and waiting for his counts to recover so that he might be able to go home.  His treatment plan includes a bone marrow transplant.  Please be in prayer that the right donor will be available to facilitate Anderson's healing.  Sally (Teacher, 1st Grade) is posting updates and immediate prayer concerns through the Caring Bridge website.  Anyone wishing to support the Kriegers during this time, please contact 1st-grade parent, Heather Watson - sassyheather@gmail.com - who is coordinating efforts.  Additionally, if you would like to support the Krieger's by providing them a meal, please sign up by following this link - Krieger Meal Sign Up.  Thank you for keeping Sally, Jon, Anderson and Ian (WCA Class of 2018) in your prayers.
  • Please continue to pray for our art teacher, Jackie Kirsche, as she walks through her cancer recurrence.  Jackie is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments and the wonderful news is that recent test results indicate that the treatments are being effective against her cancer.  Specific prayer requests are that these chemotherapy drugs will continue to prove effective against her cancer, that her side effects will be minimized and that her immune system will be protected during this time of year when germs are so easily shared.  Thank you for remembering Jackie, her husband Kevin and children Berkley (class of 2013), Sierra (class of 2016) and Hadley (class of 2018).
  • Please be in continued prayer for Kim Hardwick, WCA teacher, who has undergone treatment for recurrent melanoma.  Kim's December scans showed no sign of disease.  This is a huge praise and answer to prayers!  Thank you for remembering her husband, Steve and their children (Ben - Class of 2018, Anna - 11th, Cary - 8th and Ella - 6th) during this time. Kim has set up a caring bridge site where she can share information about her journey.

Prayer requests are included here at the request, or with the permission of the family.
