Happy Spring Break!
Spring Break 2021 is here! Whether you're planning a trip or relaxing at home for a change, we hope you enjoy this time away from school. WCA will be closed April 1–12 with school resuming normal operations on Tuesday, April 13th. Have a relaxing and safe break with your people!
Class of 2021
Our seniors had an amazing retreat this week at Sharptop Cove in Jasper. It is truly hard to believe that we will hold their graduation ceremony in 51 short days. We are proud of each of you!
School Survey ~ Your Response is Requested
Before you head off on your spring break adventures, or settle into your couch for your staycation, please remember to take a few minutes and complete the school survey. This brief survey will take approximately ten minutes of your time and with your participation, will yield meaningful results about our school's values and performance.
The survey is being conducted through a third party, SAIS (our independent school accrediting agency) and you should have received a link to the survey via email on Monday, March 29. The subject line will be “An invitation from Westminster Christian Academy” and it will come from surveys@sais.orgsurveys@sais.org> as the sender. We thank you in advance for your participation in this survey!
Field Day 2021
Volunteers, T-shirts & Early Release
Spring is in the air and that means it's time to plan for WCA's annual Field Day! This day of friendly competition will be held on Friday, April 23rd from 8-12.
Volunteers: Many volunteers are needed to help this day of fun run smoothly. If you would like to learn more about how you can help, please contact Elizabeth Clement, ehclement@gmail.com.
T-Shirts: All students will receive a field day t-shirt that will be distributed on Wednesday, April 21st. Please follow the link below to enter your child's t-shirt size.
Early Release: Field Day is an early release day for all students. Here's what you need to know:
- PreK and Kindergarten - early release at 11:30 am
- 1st Grade through 12th Grade - early release at 12:15 pm
- The AfterSchool program will be available after field day. Parents should sign-up using the regular calendar/registration link.
Tennis anyone?
Do you have a student interesting in joining the tennis team for afternoon court times? If so, the WCA tennis team will be hosting an open practice for all upcoming 6th - 12th graders who are interested in playing tennis next year. The open practice will be on April 19th and 20th from 3:15 until 5 pm at Oconee Veterans Park. Please email Heather Crouse, hcrouse@wcalions.org, if interested.
WCA Sports ~ Now Available Online!
We are pleased to announce that WCA families now have the opportunity to watch all of our soccer, volleyball and basketball games online. This is the perfect way for out of town or traveling family members, to be able to see their WCA athlete compete. Follow this link - NFHS Network - and search for our school. You can purchase either a monthly or an annual pass. (If you purchase an annual pass, please be sure to participate in the High School Support Program and select WCA as your home school.)
ERB Testing Reminder
April on the school calendar means it's standardized testing time. This year, ERB standardized tests will be administered April 19th - 22nd for grades 1st through 8th. More specific details will be communicated closer to that time.
Lunch Bunch & After School Sign-Up
Parents needing to send their student(s) to LunchBunch and/or AfterSchool, please remember that you need to pre-register by following the directions outlined below:
- Click the link: Lunch Bunch & After School Registration
- Click the date your child will need to attend. If your child will attend every day of the month, or the same days each week, you may select "repeats" and choose daily or weekly. If Lunch Bunch or After School reach max capacity, you will see a red messge that says "FULL" on the day.
- Click on the "Calendar" box and select "LB/AS SIGN UP"
- Type student name(s) into the "Who" box
- Type LB for Lunch Bunch, AS for After School or LB/AS for Both
