Summer on Campus

Westminster school and administrative offices have officially adopted the summer schedule.  Offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 am until noon.  All offices will be closed the week of June 28th - July 2nd and will re-open on Tuesday, July 6th.

Summer Reading & Assignments

Summer Reading & Mathematics

It's the time of year for all of us to grab a great book and enjoy!  To help in that effort, the WCA summer reading lists are ready for students entering 1st  through 12th grades.  Lists can be found under the parents tab of the WCA website or by following this link.  Also, in an effort to keep math skills sharp over the summer break, you may find math assignments included with the summer reading requirements.

Summer Course Assignments

For some high school courses there are summer assignments to ensure students are well-prepared when classes begin in August.  These assignments can be found under the Parents tab on our website or by following this link.

Find it under the "Parents" Tab

The "Parents" tab on the WCA website, WCALions.org, is the central place to find much of the information that you, as a WCA parent, need to know.

In addition to summer reading lists, you may also find summer course prep information for AP and dual enrollment classes, a copy of the WCA student handbook and uniform guidelines.  And for those of you who like to plan ahead, the class supply lists for 2021-2022 are also posted.  For the rest of us, there's a bit of summer first!

Summer Athletics

If you have a student athlete in grades 6 through 12, your coach has probably communicated about the summer workout schedule for your sport.  For new families, or families whose child is interested in a new sport, please contact Athletic Director, Steve Crouse - scrouse@wcalions.org or 706-769-9372 for information.  Additionally, the weight room is available this summer for student athletes.  Please follow this link to access the schedule.

Please Check Your FACTS Account

As we wind up academic year 2020-2021, please take a look at your FACTS account to see if there are any open balances that need to be brought up to date.  Your assistance with helping us bring all accounts current is greatly appreciated.

If you see something you have questions about, please contact Tami Butts, tbutts@wcalions.org.

WCA Library

Summer Hours

We are excited that our library will be open on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 am until 11:30 am during the summer!  We hope that you'll take advantage of this opportunity to check out reading materials from our amazing collection.

Reading Program

Lower school students in grades 1st - 5th, have the opportunity to earn prizes by keeping track of their summertime reading minutes.  Summer reading program logs have been sent home at the end of the school year or can be accessed by following these links - 1st - 2nd Reading Log, 3rd - 5th Reading Log.  All you need to do is keep up with your child's reading minutes, bring the reading log to the library as they achieve the program goals and let them pick out a prize that they've earned!

License to drive this summer?

Do you have teenager who will be getting either their learner's permit or driver's license over the summer?  If so, you will need a certification of enrollment to complete the process.  To get an enrollment certification, please contact Laura Boswell - 706-769-9372 or office@wcalions.org.  Due to summer office hours, be sure to plan for additional time to get the necessary form.
