We wanted a Christian education for our children, but we've received so much more than we ever imagined from WCA! We knew WCA had incredible academics and we knew the Bible program would be a wonderful benefit to our children's spiritual growth. What we never imagined is that our son would have a chance to play football and to grow in confidence as a young man.

Academic preparation is vitally important to us, but it is not our only goal. Another component to a Westminster education is exemplified in our effort to instill in our students a biblical worldview – to help them establish a view of the world that is consistent with the truth taught in scripture. Being able to think from a Christian perspective and having a biblical understanding are essential for developing wisdom and skills of discernment. We desire for our students to have a relationship with Christ that is personal and life-changing. Our goal in discipleship is growth in maturity and the establishment of a well-grounded faith. To this end, in addition to integrating this biblical perspective into all academic instruction, we offer weekly chapel services with featured guest speakers, as well as a weekly student-led chapel that focuses exclusively on worship. Also, older students are paired with younger students both individually and in small group settings, giving them an opportunity to be involved in a mentoring relationship. Prayer within the classroom is a daily occurrence, and students grow comfortable sharing their needs and praying for each other. In the end, we hope to see Westminster students apply what they’ve been taught about developing the Christian mind to the situations they face.
There is also a social component to education that cannot be overlooked. Because our campus houses all grade levels, students become comfortable interacting socially with various age groups. Being in a class with many of the same people for years, sometimes kindergarten to graduation, is a unique opportunity not available in most communities today. Our social goal for life outside the classroom is to foster healthy peer relationships among the students, teaching them also to handle conflicts honestly and biblically. Deep friendships are often formed at WCA that last long beyond the school years and well into adulthood. Much of this building of relationships is accomplished through the social and co-curricular activities offered. Some examples: the life-changing (as it often described) senior mission trip to Mexico; the annual upper school trip to destinations such as Washington, D.C., Boston, New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania; the Christmas Formal; club service projects; recreational league athletics; middle school, junior varsity, and varsity athletics; drama productions; yearbook publication; and Student Council activities, to name a few.
