SUPPORT and SUPPLIES NEEDED: Senior Mission Trip to Jamaica March 7-13
Just as in years past, the mission trip to Kingston, Jamaica will involve ministering to several children’s orphanages, elderly homes, churches, a local boys’ home, a school for the deaf, and street ministries. If you are unable to support the group financially, there is the opportunity to submit supplies for Operation Restoration Christian School where our group will minster. Items needed include: Camera Batteries, Dry Eraser Pens, White Chalk, Photo Copy Paper-Letter Size, Plain Envelopes (number 8), File Folders 1/3 cut Manilla, Inspirational Posters, (Masking, Scotch)Tapes, Note Books, Pens & Pencils, and inspirational/Christian DVD movies. FIFTH GRADERS BRING HOME 10 RIBBONS FROM 4-H DPA
This past weekend ten of Westminster’s fifth graders competed at the district level along with 39 other counties at 4-H DPA. The students proudly returned with 9 first place ribbons and one third place ribbon. “10 out of 10 award winners makes for one incredibly proud 5th grade teacher!!!,” said fifth grade teacher Tiffany Rasmussen. Way to go, fifth graders!!
FREE MONEY for WCA – How you can help
Please remember to keep using your Publix cards, Target cards and clipping BOX TOPS! Just by scanning your card at check-out or turning in box tops, Westminster raises over $3,000 each year. Spring Box Tops Deadline is Friday, Feb. 22! Check your pantry over the Presidents’ Day Holiday and submit ALL Box Tops EXPIRING in 2013 by the Spring Deadline. We have earned $440.86 so far this year.
WCA TALENT SHOW THIS FRIDAY
We hope to see you in the gym this Friday, Feb. 22, at 6:00 p.m. for WCA’s 3rd annual Talent Show, to benefit our RFL team and the American Cancer Society. If you’ve got talent, (and we know you do!), it’s not too late to sign up to perform! Sign-up sheets are in both school offices, and the “school-appropriate acts” should last five minutes or less.” Interested in joining Westminster’s RFL team? Anyone (parents, students, or teachers) who pays the $10 American Cancer Society registration fee and also commits to raising at least $100 can join the team! A brief meeting for Lower School parents whose children are raising money to be on the team will be held in the library immediately after school on Thursday, 2/21. HELP NEEDED: Silent Auction to Benefit Fine Arts Program
In conjunction with the Night of Fine Arts scheduled for Friday, March 28, there will be a Silent Auction. Help is needed to make this a successful auction. Mrs. Booth’s fourth grade class will be leading chapel during the month of February. Ava Howard, Linley Needham, and Buckley Grace Tomlin will be singing a special song during the offering.

SENIOR PARENTS: JAMACIA INFORMATIONAL MEETING – Monday, Feb. 25
Please be aware the class and mission trip group is 15 days out from departure. There will be a final information meeting for senior parents Monday, Feb. 25 at 7:15 a.m. in Keenan Klayman’s classroom (C21). The meeting will include flight, itinerary, communication, packing list, infomration as well as some other hitting points.
