FRONT PAGE NEWS
Special Thanks to…
A huge thanks to all the parents, teachers, staff and students who volunteered and helped with the Westminster 5K! It was a success only because of the time and effort you each provided to the race and the participants! A special thanks to 5K Chair Elizabeth Earley who did a tremendous job leading the committee, the volunteers, and engaging and securing several school sponsors!
How can you bless our dear teachers at Christmas??
Individual gifts can be great, but often teachers receive items that are hard to use or keep. Many businesses do a financial gift this time of year—our tradition is to bless our teachers with a year-end gift. We take care of it as parents so the teacher receives the entire amount—nothing is taken out in taxes!! This is a parent initiative, please don’t feel obligated, but we love to get the majority of parents to participate. Thanks so much for blessing the teachers!! Click here to find out more and how you can contribute to this blessing.
Last Chance to Order Pictures
Last chance to order! Friday, Dec. 12 is the absolute last day to turn in your picture orders. You may turn in orders to either school office. This set of orders is not guaranteed for delivery before Christmas break.
DUE TOMORROW – Candy Cane Gram Orders
Send a Candy Cane with a message to friends and family! For $1, students will receive a gift of 2 candy canes with your special message. Money raised will help support the Yearbook. Forms can be picked up in either office, or foundhere. Orders are due to either office tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 11.
Order Your Yearbook Now
Yearbook orders are now being taken. If you order your 2014-15 yearbook now, it is only $50. If you wait until January, it will be the full price of $75. Order forms can be found in either school office or simply click here.
Please Stay Off The Grass

Jamaica Mission Trip Fundraiser
If you are interested in helping the WCA seniors raise money to help them go on their mission trip to Jamaica, here is another opportunity! The senior class is selling stainless steel wind spinners in the shape of the Westminster crest and logo for $25 each. There are samples in both school offices.
Special Guest from Jamaica
We have the wonderful opportunity to welcome Ms. Keshan Parkins from Operation Restoration Christian School, Trench Town, Jamaica, to Westminster! Keshan is a vetern teacher at ORCS and is thrilled to be visiting our school for two days, December 15-16. This is her first experience traveling to a foreign county and she is hoping to learn as much as she can about our school and our teaching practices.Keshan’s main objective is to observe as many classes as she can, along with the opportunity to talk with you for a few minutes, after student dismissal each day. She will observe upper school classes on Monday and lower school classes on Tuesday. Pray that this will be a fruitful visit for her, as she learns from you and takes back to her school ideas and strategies to positively impact both teachers and students in Trench Town.

Their meal schedule has been extended and if you are interested in signing up to take the family a meal, you can do so by visitingwww.takethemameal.com, enter user name Autry and password Autry.
WAYS TO GROW
Georgia Natural Gas – True Blue School Program
Wanna give WCA money, just for staying warm this winter?? For each Georgia Natural Gas (GNG) customer who enrolls in the TrueBlue Schools Program at: www.trueblueschools.com, GNG will:
- Contribute $5 per month to WCA for each month that the customer receives natural gas service from GNG.
- Additionally, for each new GNG customer who enrolls in the Program, GNG will contribute a one-time $40 payment upon initial enrollment in the program
To Recap: GNG will give WCA: A $40 donation upon enrollment + $5 for each month you remain an active GNG customer = $100 the first year to WCA
LOWER SCHOOL NEWS
Due to tomorrow’s concert and next week’s upper school final exams, chapel is not scheduled. Regular chapel will resume upon our return to school in 2015!
Music Concert – TOMORROW NIGHT
Please join us for the lower school concert, “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Briarwood Baptist Church. Students should arrive at the church between 6:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. A letter from Mr. Rettew concerning what students should wear and other important information was sent home in each student’s folder yesterday.
Sometimes it is hard to be on time for pickup, either at half-day dismissal at noon or LS dismissal at 2:20. While the handbook policy involves a $25 fine for late pickup, we would rather send the child to our existing extended care programs. Therefore, children at noon dismissal that are not picked up by 12:15 will be directed to our Lunch Bunch program where they will be cared for until picked up–this program lasts until 2:20 and involves a $10 daily charge per child. LS students that are not picked up at the end of the day by 2:45 will be directed to our After Care program–they can be picked up any time until 5 pm–the charge is $8 for the day per child. After Care meets in the Field House, and typically spends part of the afternoon on the playground as well. Thank you.
