WCA Swimmers Finish Strong at State Meet

Luke Phillips, butterfly

WCA Senior Luke Phillips competes in the Butterfly event.

On Saturday, Westminster swim team hit the lanes at the state swim meet and earned some impressive results.  The JV boys and girls teams both placed runner up to teams almost twice their size in numbers.  Our top place JV finisher was Jackson Bates who placed first in the 50 breaststroke.  The Varsity boys placed 4th overall  against teams with nationally ranked swimmers despite only having 4 of their 8 swimmers who were able to attend the meet.  Sarah Madden, aka the Varsity girls team, beat the odds of bronchitis and other injuries to place 8th in the 100 back.  Congratulations to all Lion swim team members on a fantastic season!
