WCA Hosts GICAA State Playoff Games

ReadWestminsterChristianAcademy_AthleticLogo_Icon_2Colory for the playoffs?  Our varsity soccer and baseball teams have worked hard this season and they are ready to play!  This week, WCA is hosting GICAA baseball and soccer state playoff games.   Here is what you need to know:

  • Thursday:  Varsity Girls Soccer vs. Cherokee Christian @ 4pm
  • Friday: 
    • Varsity Baseball Double Header vs. Holy Ground Baptist @ 2 pm
    • Varsity Boys Soccer vs. Harvester @ 7 pm

For Friday’s game, the grill will be open and we will be offering hamburgers and hot dogs in the concession stand.

Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students.  This is a GICAA playoff event so Westminster season passes are not valid and students do not get in free.  We look forward to seeing you at the fields!  Go Lions!!

Last Day to order May Lunches and an Ordering Update You May Need

The deadline for ordering lunches for May deliveries is tonight at midnight.  Additionally, Monday, May 23rd was blocked in error.  This day is a regular school day with no early dismissal.  You may place Chick Fil A orders for that day through tonight’s deadline.  Sorry for any  inconvenience!   If you do not have an account, go to, use the school code WCA319 and follow the prompts to set up your account.

Class of 2016

seniors college picThey have made their college decisions and represented their schools for a class photo this week.  WCA Class of 2016 will be attending UGA, Clemson, Berry, Covenant, Samford, Emmanuel, Asbury, Georgia College and the University of North Georgia.  We are very proud of each of you!

Spring Music Concert

WCA students will be presenting their Spring Music Concert, A Time of Singing, on this Thursday, April 28th. The concert will be held at Briarwood Baptist Church, 1900 Robinhood Road, Watkinsville, beginning at 6:30 pm. This will be a wonderful opportunity to hear the vocal talents of our students. Calendar Update ~ End of School Bash

WCA’s End of School Bash and has been moved to Friday, May 20th due to a baseball tournament.  Please make this adjustment to you calendars!

“Fill the Bucket” Campaign Success

Your spare change added up last week.  The coins in the buckets resulted in a $314.89 donation for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.  Thank you and your student(s) for your contributions to this worthy cause!

Chess Tournament

WCA will hold it’s annual chess tournament Wednesday, May 4th – Wednesday, May 18th.   Games will begin directly after school in the lower school art room.  The tournament is open for all students in grades 1st through 12th.  Games will begin directly after school in the lower school art room.  Any interested students should sign up in the upper school office by Tuesday, May 3rd.  Questions?  Please contact Michelle McCormack at

Upper School Lost and Found

Lost and Found items for the upper school are on display now and will be available through 2:30 pm, Friday the 29th.  Once again, thank you for helping us get your things back into your possession!

Summer Art Camp

Westminster will be hosting their 3rd Annual Summer Art Camp in July.  Classes will be instructed by our own Jackie Kirsche and there will be a camp offered for rising 2nd – 3rd graders and for rising 4th – 6th graders.  Please follow this link for additional information.  You may access the registration form here.  The deadline for registration is Friday, May 20th.  Please submit completed form and payment to the office.  If you have questions, please contact Jackie Kirsche at

WCA Summer Office Hours

The summer break is quickly approaching and that means the school office at Westminster will be on a different schedule.  Please know that the WCA office summer hours will be Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.

End of School Early Dismissal Days

It’s hard to believe, but the last week of school is going to be here soon! In preparation, please mark your calendars for the following early dismissal days in May:

  • Due to final exams, all Upper School students will be dismissed at 11:15 am Tuesday the 24th, Wednesday the 25th and Thursday the 26th.
  • All students, both Upper and Lower School will be dismissed at 9:30 am on the last day of school, Friday the 27th.

Celebrate National School Library Month

Don’t forget that April is National School Library Month.  You can visit the WCA wish lists on Amazon by clicking on the links below to order books for the library and have them delivered directly to WCA. Every Week at WCA

  • WCA Parents Prayer Time meets every Tuesday from 8:00 – 8:15 am in the Art Room.
  • After School Spanish for grades 5th – 8th meets every Monday from 2:45 – 3:45 in the field house.
  • Math Olympiad is finished for the school year.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for WCA students Lilly Atkinson (3rd grade) and Noah Irwin (2nd grade) as they travel to Uganda this week to help with the orphanage at Good Shepherd’s Fold.
