College Road Trip – 4 Colleges in 3 Days

Which way did they go?  Last week, there were 27 WCA sophomores and juniors who visited 4 colleges in 3 days and had a lot of fun in the process!  The first stop on Tuesday morning was the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega.  Tuesday evening found the group in Chattanooga enjoying dinner downtown.  Wednesday was spent touring Lee University in the morning and Covenant College in the afternoon.  On Thursday, the final day of the whirlwind tour, the students visited Berry College before heading home.   They were able to tour all of the campuses, eat in several dining halls,  see dorm life up close, and learn a lot about the process of college admissions and college life.   Thanks to all who helped to make College Trip 2017 such a success!

Legal Lions Compete for State Title this Saturday

Westminster Christian Academy’s Legal Lions are among the top eight mock trial teams (both public and private) in the state.  After winning the district competition against highly competitive schools, WCA’s mock trial team will compete for the state title this Saturday, March 4th in Atlanta.

In order to win our district, our Legal Lions had to take on and win against the top three teams in the Cumming area (Cambridge High School, Forsyth Central High School and North Gwinnett High School) as well as the second and third place teams from the Athens area (Athens Christian School and Clarke Central High School).   After morning rounds, Westminster advanced to the championship round against Cambridge High School and were named the 2017 District Champions after beating Cambridge High School 4-2 in ballots. This is the third district title for Westminster, who won their fourth consecutive region championship earlier this month, defeating Clarke Central High School, Athens Christian School, and Oconee County High school, as well as other area schools to be named Region Champions.

Westminster senior Abigail Snyder won three outstanding attorney awards. Senior David Lanclos and junior Rachel Snyder also received outstanding attorney awards. Outstanding witness awards went to Hadley Kirsche (four awards this season), Hannie Lanclos (three awards this season), Sawyer Bradford, Ryan Cullom, and Emory Grace Doster.

Lost something?  We may have it!

Lost and Found at WCA always includes some pretty nice things.  Some of these items may belong in your house and we want you to have them back.  Items will be displayed on the stage in the gym next Tuesday, March 7th until 2:45 pm.  Unclaimed items will be donated at that point.

Please remember that you may always check for missing items in Lost and Found every school day.

Prayer Requests

As the body of Christ, we have the privilege of praying for each other. If you have a prayer request that you would like to have included here, please contact Tami Butts,

Please pray for the Krieger family as their son, Anderson (8th), is undergoing treatment for a relapse of his leukemia. He is currently at Scottish Rite hospital in Atlanta undergoing treatment.  This first round of treatments is very intense and requires Anderson to be in the hospital for about a month. Specific prayer requests are for protection from infection for Anderson while undergoing treatment and for clean results from weekly spinal taps.  Also prayers for peace, strength and provision for Sally (1st grade teacher), Jon and Ian (10th). If you would like to help the family in any way, please contact Julie Tomlin,

There are members of our community in need of our faithful prayer support. These families have set up blogs that you can follow to keep up to date. As you read the blogs, there is much to pray for and much for which to be thankful.

  • For updates and specific prayer requests for the Needham family (Linley 6th), please read Susanna Needham’s blog to follow their families journey as 3 yr. old, Beck, is undergoing treatment for leukemia. For questions, or to address immediate needs, please contact Julie Tomlin (
  • Please be in prayer for Brent Weatherly and his family. He has started a blog where you can follow his journey and receive specific prayer requests.
  • Thank you for your continued prayers for Hannie Lanclos and her family as she continues her path of healing.

Thank you for lifting up these members of our WCA family.

Prayer requests are included here at the request, or with the permission, of the family.
