. . . and they’re off!
WCA Seniors leave for Haiti Mission Trip
Westminster seniors left early this morning on their mission trip to Haiti along with chaperones Philip and Tiffany Haymore and Josh Roberts. They will be spending one week in Haiti ministering to the people there and return to the states on April 5th. Please be in prayer for their protection, unity and for the preparation of the hearts of the Haitian people they will be serving. You can get the latest on their trip by following WCA on Facebook and Instagram.
Your generosity is overwhelming!
Many thanks to all the WCA families who donated to the Haiti mission trip practical supply list. The team was amazed by your generosity and their suitcases were filled to overflowing! Your gifts will be a huge blessing to the Mission of Hope Haiti organization and thus, to the people of Haiti that they minister to on an ongoing basis. Thank you again for being good stewards of the gifts you have been given.
Grand Opening & Dedication for the New Fitness Center
You are invited to attend the grand opening and dedication of the new Fitness Center Expansion on Tuesday, April 11 at 8:15 am. We look forward to celebrating what God has done and allowing you to tour the new facility.
You’ve been waiting and now it’s here!
The halls will be quiet, the traffic circle peaceful because next week, April 3 – 7, WCA will be closed for Spring Break! School will re-open on Monday, April 10th for a shortened 4-day week due to the Good Friday holiday coming up on the 14th.
May you all have a great break doing some of the things you like to do the best!
Going once, going twice, gone!
It’s that time again. In the on-going effort to keep the school neat and tidy, lost and found items will be on display tomorrow, Thursday, March 30th, until 2:30 pm.
Please stop by and look through the items to see if there are things that belong to your household. Remember, after end of the school day tomorrow, remaining items will be donated.
Cheerleading Camp in the News
Once again, WCA will kick off summer with the 2nd Annual Cheerleading Camp! The camp will be held on Friday, May 26th from 9 am – 3 pm. The cost is $60 and registration is open for grades preK – 6th. Registration fee includes lunch, snacks and a t-shirt and areas of instruction will include cheer, dance, jumps and stunts. Register by Friday, May 19th to guarantee a t-shirt. You can access the camp flyer and registration information by following this link, Cheerleading Camp May 26th. If you have any questions, please contact Kim Costello, (email@example.com).
Summertime Fun at WCA
The “lazy” days of summer are getting closer and to help avoid mental and physical atrophy, WCA will be offering several summer camp opportunities for your student(s)! For more information, please follow the link below. As more camp plans are finalized, we’ll let you know and update this website page.
As the body of Christ, we have the privilege of praying for each other. If you have a prayer request that you would like to have included here, please contact Tami Butts, firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are members of our community in need of our faithful prayer support. Some of these families have set up blogs that you can follow to keep up to date, others we will do our best to update you here. In each of these families there is much to pray for and much for which to be thankful.
- Please pray for WCA Art Teacher, Jackie Kirsche, as she will be beginning a series of treatments again for metastatic cancer. Her diagnosis and situation are best communicated in her own words: Hi friends. We have been watching my tumor markers rise over the past few months; I had a CT scan this past Friday. My scan results were as we expected–slow metastatic growth in lymph nodes in my pelvis, abdomen and chest. I will begin the same regimen I did last time, starting next Tuesday and continuing for 12 weeks. I handled this very well last time and am hopeful for that again. Big prayers will be for my body to both handle it and the cancer to respond well to the treatment. I’d love to reach NED (no evidence of disease) again!! Thanks for walking with us through this (again). We love you and are grateful for you! Thank you for keeping Jackie and her family, husband Kevin, children Berkley, Sierra and Hadley (11th) before the Father.
- Please continue to pray for the Krieger family as their son, Anderson (8th), is undergoing treatment for a relapse of his leukemia. This has been a very exciting week as Anderson is now considered in remission and has been released to go home after over a month in the hospital! Please pray for his body as he recovers from all the medication required for this intense month of treatment and for wisdom and strength regarding the next phase of treatment. Also prayers for peace, strength and provision for Sally (1st grade teacher), Jon and Ian (10th). If you would like to help the family in any way, please contact Julie Tomlin, email@example.com.
- For updates and specific prayer requests for the Needham family (Linley 6th), please read Susanna Needham’s blog to follow their families journey as 3 yr. old, Beck, is undergoing treatment for leukemia. For questions, or to address immediate needs, please contact Julie Tomlin (firstname.lastname@example.org).
- Please be in prayer for Brent Weatherly and his family. He has started a blog where you can follow his journey and receive specific prayer requests. http://dbw26.wordpress.com.
Thank you for lifting up these members of our WCA family.
