Following two wins yesterday evening during the first day of the Dominion Christian volleyball tournament, and two wins today, the Westminster Lady Lions made it all the way to the semi-finals where they were defeated by Shiloh Hills Christian School 23-25, 16-25.

Olivia Watson led the team today with 11 blocks, 12 kills and 14 digs. Madison Herrin had 24 assists and 11 aces. Rayne Pyfrom added 8 blocks and 9 aces. Laura Scott Tomlin added 7 aces and 7 kills.

The team played hard and have much to be proud about.  They went into this morning’s pool play and defeated Bethlehem Christian 25-18; 25-23 and split sets with Dominion Christian, 24-26, 25-23.

The varsity girls team went into tournament play tanked second in their pool. In the quarterfinals, Westminster defeated Holy Spirit Preparatory School 26-24, 22-24, 25-12.

It was the semifinals were the Lady Lions lost to Shiloh Hills Christian School 23-25, 16-25.

The varsity girls first regular season match is at home on Tuesday, August 21 against Providence Christian at  5:30 p.m.  The JV team will play before this at 4:30 p.m.
