OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD Thanks to everyone who donated a shoebox. WCA collected a total of 152 boxes. Way to go!!!
Westminster Christian Academy collected 152 gift-filled shoeboxes for the 2013 Samaritan’s Purse “Operation Christmas Child”. The boxes were loaded in a van and delivered to the Athens collection center, to go by semi-truck to Atlanta, and will then be distributed in nearly 150 countries. Westminster’s varsity boys swim team made a big splash at the team’s first meet of the season Saturday, Nov. 9. With more overall points than any other team at the meet held in Macon, Ga., the Lions WON the first meet of the season. Congratulations, Lions!
Congratulations to Westminster’s One Act Play team which won the State competition Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013. Under the direction of Drama teacher Joelle Dunham, the One Act Play received the program’s first state title with its performance of “The Good Doctor”. “This is an amazing and talented group of students,” said Dunham following the win. Congratulations to Westminster’s One Act Play team which competed Thursday, Oct. 24 and won the Regional Championship with its performance of, “The Good Doctor.” Individual Outstanding Actor awards were also received by four Lions: Daniel Lanclos, Josh Russell, Jami Dillard and Sarah Cole.
The Lady Lions varsity volleyball team finished its season in the Final Four at the weekend long GICAA State tournament.. The Lady Lions kicked off their tournament Friday, Oct. 25 at Agnes Scot College where they took on Trinity, #2 seed of GICAA’s Southern Region.
