After an impressive showing at last month’s 4-H County Project Achievement (CPA), 11 of WCA’s 5th grade students advanced to the District Project Achievement (DPA) competition held at Rock Eagle Saturday, Feb. 14.
The hard work and dedication of these students paid off as 8 received 1st place DPA ribbons, and another placed 2nd.
Several of the students earned first place at both the County and District levels. These students and their respective topics are as follows: Andrew Allen, Peafowl; Peyton Deep, Raw Milk vs. Pasteurization; Sarah Donatelli, Gymnastics Safety; James Whitmire, Origami; Bella Haskell, Interior Design; Katherine Sutton, Archaeology; Andrew Mulkey, Rotable Aircraft; and Marisa Vazquez, Horses. Mary Emma Norman’s presentation on Rabbits earned first place at County and second place at District. Livy Mitchell and Kyle McCullough did an outstanding job presenting their respective individual projects on Magnet Bulletin Boards and Running Safety which earned each of them third place at the County competition.
Congratulations to each of these students, and to their amazing teacher Mrs. Tiffany Rasmussen who guided, encouraged and motivated them.
